Each page has both clocks, an hour-by-hour chart and the dates when the gap between the two zones changes. For any two cities, such as London and Tokyo, use the time difference calculator. To find working hours across several cities, use the meeting planner.

How abbreviations are read

A US abbreviation stands for the whole zone. Strictly, EST is UTC−5 and EDT is UTC−4, but most people write EST all year to mean Eastern Time, so the pages here follow the clock in New York, Chicago, Denver or Los Angeles whatever the season.

UTC and GMT are UTC+0 all year. UK time is GMT in winter and BST (UTC+1) in summer, so a London time is not always GMT. CET stands for the Paris and Berlin clock, which is CEST in summer. IST means India Standard Time, UTC+5:30, and JST is Japan, UTC+9.

Your own time

Both boxes offer “Your time zone”, read from your device. To turn one time into all four main US zones at once, use the converter on the home page, which also shows which zone your device is set to. To keep several cities' live times side by side, open the world clock.
